About The Position

The Busser is primarily responsible for clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables for the next guest. Secondary responsibilities include assisting servers in providing excellent guest service, and the proper maintenance, stocking, and cleaning of side stations, floors, furniture, and restrooms. The Brigantine Family of Restaurants has over 20 restaurants in 6 concepts throughout San Diego County: The Brigantine Seafood and Oyster Bar, Miguel’s Cocina, Ketch Brewing, Ketch Grill and Taps, Topsail, and Portside Coffee & Gelato. Requirements

  • Friendly, energetic, detail-oriented team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment!
  • Restaurant experience is a plus but not required. We offer on-the-job training.
  • A desire to help where needed and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work positively and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire bar area and service wells.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Exhibit a professional appearance and mannerisms.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, and wipe for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to carry trays and supplies (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Food Handler Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables for the next guest.
  • Assisting servers in providing excellent guest service.
  • Proper maintenance, stocking, and cleaning of side stations, floors, furniture, and restrooms.
  • Cleaning and sweeping the dining areas of the restaurant.
  • Taking out the garbage.
  • Stocking stations with necessary supplies.
  • Cleaning the bathrooms.
  • Anticipating guests’ and coworkers’ needs and exceeding guest service expectations.
  • Protecting establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
  • Maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Responding urgently and appropriately to guests’ and coworkers’ needs.
  • Exhibiting a professional appearance and mannerisms.
  • Ensuring guests are enjoying their experience and taking action to correct any problems.
  • Concluding the guest experience by acknowledging choice of establishment and inviting patrons to return.
  • Completing assigned sidework at the beginning, during, and at the end of shift.
