About The Position

The Busser position sets and cleans dining room tables before, during and after meal service. The position provides quality service to the Members and their guests by ensuring an exceptional dining experience while performing the below duties.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to understand, interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and scheduled form.
  • Must be able to properly remove dishes, set tables and clean dining areas.
  • Must be able to work rapidly and safely during rush periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple requests at a time.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Greets members and guests by name whenever possible and attentive to their needs.
  • Assist servers in their set-up, service and clean up tasks.
  • Assist Expediter on the line in the kitchen coordinating food orders to be delivered.
  • Informs Manager of any special requests made by members and guests.
  • Maintains working knowledge of menus and pertinent information such as daily specials.
  • Serves water/bread as members are seated.
  • Assists with food delivery to tables.
  • Provides the highest level of service in accordance with Club standards.
  • Ensures that members/guests have a positive and memorable dining experience.
  • Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Responsible for constant sanitation, organization, and proper food handling.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations.
  • Attends pre-shift meetings as requested by the dining room captain (Dining room manager or Clubhouse manager).
  • Removes soiled dishes from tables, brings to dish washing area and breaks down trays.
  • Removes soiled linens, replaces with clean linen and stores soiled linens in linen pick up area.
  • Cleans up spills and broken service ware with minimal disruption to other staff members and diners.
  • Sets tables with silverware, glassware, and other items.
  • Responsible for ensuring that work area is 100% ready for service 15 minutes prior to the scheduled opening time.
  • Responsible for leaving all areas clean and organized at the end of shift.
  • Cleans chairs and resets tables as soon as the members leave.
  • Sets dining room according to supervisor’s floor plan.
  • Keeps ice bins and buckets filled.
  • Stocks server’s station with supplies.
  • Folds napkins and breadbasket folds.
  • Polishes silverware and glassware.
  • Cleans dining room areas.
  • Collects trash from dining room after each serving period.
  • Transports dining room tables and chairs as needed.
  • Sets up, empties and cleans salad bar.
  • Assists with buffet and hors d’oeuvres set up.
  • Helps maintain a fully stocked buffet and salad bar area.
  • Cleans and stores children’s highchairs and booster seats.
  • Keeps storage and linen rooms neat and organized.
  • Must show up to work on time and in complete uniform.
  • Must check with manager or captain prior to end of shift.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Dining Room Manager, Captain and designees.
