The Busser is responsible for obtaining a service area assignment at the beginning of each shift, promptly greeting guests, bringing bread, butter, and water to tables, and removing used tableware between courses. They will also provide tableware for the next course, clear tables after guests depart, and take soiled tableware to the dish room. This role involves unloading, sorting, and stacking silverware, dishes, and glassware in designated areas. Additionally, the Busser will promptly clean tabletops, chairs, and booths between seatings, check and clean floors as required, and reset and arrange tabletops. They are expected to inspect assigned restrooms every 30 minutes and clean as needed, bag and haul trash to the dumpster at designated times, and respond appropriately to guest requests. Communication with servers and hostesses is crucial to ensure efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service. The Busser will assist servers as needed with food delivery, especially for large parties and during peak periods, and thank guests as they leave. Reporting to work on time and as scheduled is mandatory, and shifts end only upon approval by the Manager on Duty (MOD). The Busser must be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
