About The Position

The incumbent in this position is responsible for keeping the wait staff supplied with appropriate quantities of dishware, flatware, food supplies and paper products, serving bread and water to each table, prebussing serviceware, clearing tables, resetting tables, managing the dirty linen, and polishing and stocking glassware and silverware. This role also involves creating an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment, actively building and retaining guest relations, and mentoring team members to provide superior guest service. The position requires anticipating and identifying guest needs, receiving and stocking clean china, silverware, and glassware, maintaining stock and line areas, setting up stations, carts, and equipment, and assisting servers, food runners, or bartenders as needed. Additionally, the Busser participates in tableside preparation and service, assists with special events, prepares and serves non-alcoholic beverages, and is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces. Non-essential functions include attending seminars, participating in trainings, and researching products to educate the service team.

Requirements

  • Two months of on-the-job training or one year of food and beverage experience
  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations
  • Must successfully pass background check
  • Must successfully pass drug screening
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must have and maintain a valid food handlers certification for the state of California
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent multitasking and prioritizing skills
  • Basic Restaurant service technique
  • Safe work habits including proper lifting/carrying of heavy objects
  • Ability to present an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests
  • Ability to stand throughout an eight-hour shift

Responsibilities

  • Keeping the wait staff supplied with appropriate quantities of dishware, flatware, food supplies and paper products

  • Carrying full, sorted trays or bus tubs to dishwashing area and sorting properly
  • Assisting the servers, food runners, or bartenders with execution of their duties as business dictates
  • Attending and participating in meetings, completing follow-up as assigned
  • Performing work regularly and predictably
  • Participating in tableside preparation and service of food and beverage offerings
  • Assisting with other duties at special events or parties and assisting where necessary to include but not limited to carving, cooking, setup and or teardown stations or work areas or other duties as assigned
  • Preparing and serving nonalcoholic beverages including but not limited to soda, juice, tea, coffee and espresso beverages
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces
  • Other duties as assigned
