About The Position

Our client is an industry leading advanced manufacturer seeking a Business Unit Finance Manager to provide financial leadership for a high-growth, multi-site business unit. As a key member of the Leadership Team, this individual will partner closely with operations and executive leadership to drive financial performance, support strategic decision-making, and oversee financial planning and analysis across the business. The role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, financial reporting, project profitability analysis, and business performance metrics. This position also provides leadership to a Site Finance Manager and Financial Analyst while helping guide the long-term financial success of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8-10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in manufacturing cost accounting.
  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information to leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Experience supporting government contracting environments and working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leadership to support strategic planning and profitable growth initiatives.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, including budget-to-actual variance reporting and key performance metrics.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including Estimates at Completion (EACs), project profitability, productivity, indirect spending, and overhead costs.
  • Prepare balance sheet forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations that support operational and business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by leadership.
  • Lead and mentor members of the finance team.
