About The Position

Northern Trust is a global leader in wealth management, asset servicing, asset management, and banking services. This role provides administrative, operational, logistical, and project support across multiple business units on an ongoing basis. The position involves overseeing the development of action plans for client servicing, coordinating with team members, and maintaining knowledge of business applications critical to relationship management. The administrator will also act as a technical resource for other account managers, participate in business unit planning, collect and analyze data for reports, and update manuals and procedures. Problem resolution within established guidelines is expected, with more complex issues referred to supervisors. The role requires effective teamwork and independent work, with a goal of becoming proficient in all job areas.

Requirements

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic Functional / Industry Knowledge.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. Peoplesoft, Microsoft Office).
  • Previous years of experience, or equivalent, in financial servicing/accounting fields with client servicing background.

Responsibilities

  • Under direct supervision responsible for providing administrative, operational, logistical and project support across multiple business units on an ongoing basis.
  • Oversees development of appropriate action plans for client servicing and coordinates with other team members across disciplines to ensure execution and follow-up.
  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of various business applications critical to relationship management including client on-line tools.
  • Participates in inter-discipline training within the office/region.
  • Acts as a technical resource or expert for other account managers on process or procedures for delivery of service.
  • Participates in the planning and administration of the business unit.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data and information for reports and presentations for the department.
  • Runs and creates formal reports for business unit.
  • Updates manuals, procedures, etc.
  • Responsible for identifying and resolving problems within established guidelines.
  • Expected to use some initiative but refer more complex problems to supervisors/experts.
  • Works effectively as a team member but also independently.
  • Working towards becoming proficient in all areas of the job.
