The Business Technology Analyst III researches, analyzes, and evaluates data from a variety of sources and makes recommendations to management for program and process improvements. This role acts independently and provides guidance to entry-level employees, serving as a mentor to other team members. The analyst will assist business owners with functional area subject matter expertise, business analysis strategies, and company networking/contacts. They will act as a liaison between client areas and information systems by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Additionally, this role acts as an internal lead within the information systems and business groups to reengineer technical processes for greater efficiencies. The analyst provides technical recommendations and assistance to business owners by identifying, evaluating, designing, and specifying systems and procedures that are cost-effective, efficient, and meet business requirements and corporate strategic goals. This includes providing business consultation, defining business requirements, and analyzing project impacts (business and systems). The analyst performs an analysis of the facts and identifies potential solutions that will meet the business requirements. They prepare scope documents, system specifications, and design recommendations for information system changes based on a thorough understanding of the business area and processes. The role facilitates the defining of database schemas and tracks requirements defined by the business to monitor information systems projects and business processes. The analyst develops and delivers project-related presentations to business owners to gain consensus for final approval to move forward with the project. They also manage software vendor relationships before project management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years directly related experience.
  • Extensive analytical ability to include organization and problem solving techniques.
  • Expertise in presentation of information through written and verbal communications.
  • Extensive facilitation skills for gathering requirements and business process design related to system change requests.
  • Coordinating issue resolutions through direct interaction with clients and application developers.
  • Ability to perform well within a team-based environment.
  • Project management skills for the development of project plans and leading teams through all the project life cycles.
  • Extensive experience in performing complex technical analysis of various data and business problems with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must demonstrate analytical proficiency regarding the functional and technical development of the application software solution, add value to the projects as a subject matter expert of the assigned business process areas and their associated application systems.
  • Requires the ability to multi-task in order to support production issues, test production fixes and fulfill legal and regulatory requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Information Systems.
  • Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above.
  • 5+ years directly related experience with a Bachelors degree.
  • 7+ years directly related experience with an Associates degree.
  • 9+ years directly related experience with a High School Diploma.
