About The Position

This is a full-time opportunity for a Business Tax Senior Manager specializing in M&A Partnership to join our team in Chicago, IL. The role involves leading business tax engagements for partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and complex entity structures, providing strategic tax planning and advisory services. You will support clients through transaction planning, structuring, and tax impact analysis, identifying tax opportunities and risks. Additionally, you will review complex tax returns, research tax issues, and ensure compliance with tax regulations. This position also requires leadership in client management, mentoring junior professionals, and collaborating with Directors and Partners. You will also contribute to process improvements and internal initiatives focused on quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Active CPA license required.
  • 6+ years of public accounting tax experience.
  • Strong expertise in Partnership Taxation, Business Entity Taxation, M&A Tax, and Tax Compliance and Advisory Services.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and client management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of management experience preferred.
  • Experience leading complex M&A tax engagements.
  • Strong background working with privately held businesses and partnership structures.
  • Experience mentoring and developing tax professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business tax engagements involving partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and complex entity structures.
  • Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to business clients.
  • Support clients through transaction planning, structuring, and tax impact analysis.
  • Identify tax opportunities and risks related to business transactions.
  • Review complex business and entity tax returns, including Partnership returns, Corporate tax returns, Pass-through entity filings, and other business tax compliance matters.
  • Research and resolve complex tax issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business clients.
  • Manage client relationships and engagement expectations.
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level tax professionals.
  • Review work performed by team members and provide technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with Directors and Partners on complex engagements.
  • Support improvements to tax engagement processes and workflows.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and team development.
