About The Position

This role requires a strong blend of technical systems analysis and deep payments domain expertise, particularly in Interac eTransfer processing, account transfers, and treasury cash management solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with product owners, architects, developers, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑performing payment solutions for commercial and corporate clients.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in large‑scale financial services or technology environments.
  • Strong technical analysis skills with the ability to understand system architecture and data flows.
  • Proven experience in payments systems, preferably in Interac eTransfer, Domestic payments, Account transfers or treasury cash management solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian payments ecosystem, Payment lifecycle and settlement processes, Client entitlements, limits, and fraud controls.
  • Experience working with commercial or corporate banking platforms is highly preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with APIs (REST/JSON), SQL and data analysis, System integration patterns, Event‑driven or message‑based architectures.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern digital architectures is a plus.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams including product, development, QA, and operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with digital banking platforms or cash management systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards.
  • Exposure to real‑time or near real‑time payments.
  • CBAP or Agile certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a bridge between business and technology, translating complex business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Lead requirements elicitation sessions using workshops, interviews, and document analysis.
  • Analyze end‑to‑end payment flows including initiation, validation, posting, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.
  • Prepare and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), Technical use cases and user stories, Process flows, sequence diagrams, and data mappings.
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise in Interac eTransfer processing (Send, Request, Receive, Auto‑Deposit), Account‑to‑account transfers, Client onboarding and entitlement management, Payment limits, cutoff times, and settlement cycles.
  • Support enhancements related to real‑time payments, payment tracking, and exception handling.
  • Work closely with operations and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory, audit, and risk requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects on API‑based integrations, payment rails, and downstream systems.
  • Analyze and document data models, message formats, and interface contracts.
  • Support cloud‑native and microservices‑based solutions.
  • Participate in system impact analysis for new features or regulatory changes.
  • Support integration with external payment networks and internal core banking systems.
  • Work within Agile/Scrum teams as a core delivery team member.
  • Decompose epics into features and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Support QA and UAT teams by reviewing test cases, supporting defect triage and root‑cause analysis, and providing domain and functional clarifications.
  • Contribute to release planning and go‑live readiness activities.
