About The Position

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Business Systems Analyst I to join their IS team. The Business Systems Analyst will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and Business Process Automation (BPA) teams, ensuring clear definition, documentation, and delivery of application requirements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and willingness to learn.
  • Must be able to maintain a "Big Picture" perspective.
  • Strong time management, project management, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to study current practices, think outside the box, and foster creative analysis to complex problems.
  • Able to quickly adapt to priority changes.
  • Good listening and facilitator skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or project experience as a Business Analyst or in a related BPA/business role is preferred.
  • Exposure to business process modeling, requirements management tools, or data analysis through coursework or internships.
  • Experience with scenario development, test case construction, or flowcharting is a plus.
  • Experience in a specific domain (e.g., manufacturing, finance, supply chain, procurement) is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Project management experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, validate, and document business requirements for business applications.
  • Assist in requirements gathering workshops, interviews, and process mapping sessions.
  • Support the evaluation of existing applications and help recommend improvements or new solutions to optimize business processes.
  • Identify and help resolve issues or gaps in requirements and processes.
  • Develop use cases, user stories, process flows, and data models under guidance.
  • Work closely with Developers and QA to transition user requirements into functional, technical, and test case documents.
  • Participate in application validation and assist with user acceptance testing to ensure functionalities are working as designed.
  • Perform queries of databases using SQL for analysis, reporting and QA activities.
  • Provide user support and assist in investigating and resolving issues with various business applications.
  • Adhere to Microchip policies and procedures on project management and change control.
  • Work with both technical and non-technical user communities.
  • Able to flex work hours to meet with offshore Developers and QA engineers.
  • Perform other work related tasks assigned by the manager.
