About The Position

EECU is seeking a Business System Analyst with expertise in Lending/Finance to enhance retail/call center business unit performance through process and system improvements. This role involves identifying problems, designing solutions, and applying hands-on development for smaller projects. The position will support EECU’s Lending systems (Direct Lending, Indirect Lending, Accounting, and Business Services) by acting as a liaison to the IT department, providing support and expertise. Responsibilities include defining business and operational requirements, designing and developing solutions, identifying and resolving systems issues, supporting and configuring line-of-business applications, reviewing and analyzing business processes, creating and implementing new business processes, providing project management, and creating systems proposals and business cases. The role may also involve hands-on development for projects under 8 hours, appealing to developers wanting closer end-user interaction or analysts wanting to use development skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of professional experience in business systems analysis, information systems, or related technical roles.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business, functional, and system requirements.
  • Experience supporting software development, system implementations, or enterprise technology solutions.
  • Experience working with project management or software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Lean.
  • Experience analyzing and improving business processes and system workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Working knowledge of SQL queries and data analysis for reporting and decision support.
  • Experience developing process diagrams, system documentation, and business cases.
  • Knowledge of enterprise applications, system integrations, and data flows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Agile or Scrum certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Master or similar).
  • Master’s degree and/or advanced data analytics certifications preferred.
  • Experience working within a financial institution or credit union environment.
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master or Agile team facilitator.
  • Experience supporting core banking or enterprise financial systems.
  • Experience performing platform ownership or product management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders, system owners, and end users to gather and analyze business, financial, and operational requirements.
  • Translate complex business needs into system proposals, business cases, and functional requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to support technology investment decisions.
  • Analyze current processes and systems to identify automation opportunities and operational improvements.
  • Develop process models, diagrams, and system documentation to support development and implementation.
  • Serve as Scrum Master for the assigned IT Fusion Team.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Track Agile metrics such as velocity and burndown to support continuous improvement.
  • Support business operations through system configuration, reporting, user administration, and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate testing and implementation of new applications and system enhancements.
  • Monitor system releases, upgrades, and defect resolution.
  • Ensure compatibility between in-house and vendor solutions.
  • Serve as platform owner for line-of-business systems, overseeing system performance and roadmap development.
  • Evaluate software releases and new capabilities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and cost optimization.
  • Create epics and user stories to support project work.
  • Coordinate sprint tasks and collaborate with project teams to ensure successful delivery.
