About The Position

NBCUniversal is a leading media and entertainment company. This role is for a Business System Analysis Manager, FP&A (SAP) who will act as a liaison between finance strategy and technical execution. The manager will lead the support and delivery of planning solutions within the FP&A Studios portfolio, ensuring global users have the necessary tools. This position is critical within Enterprise Applications and requires flexible hours to support global accounting/planning users. The company is undergoing a Finance transformation, moving planning solutions from SAP BPC to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business from an accredited institution or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with ERP FP&A systems (SAC, Anaplan, OneStream, etc.) and SAP BPC, including Lead Architect level work in an IT capacity, implementing complex and large-scale planning solutions.
  • Prior hands-on experience implementing BPC or other FP&A solutions as a technical/functional analyst with proven skills in developing templates, configuring environments/models, dimensions, logic, and computations.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new FP&A technologies.
  • Skillful at translating complex technical requirements into "finance-speak" for executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to gather and present business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Ability to guide technical development using specifications documentation.
  • Ability to work and collaborate within a cross-functional matrix.
  • Possesses interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of business and IT.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to expand depth of knowledge.
  • Adherence to project methodologies and change control processes.
  • Strong understanding of FP&A processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and consolidated financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and ETL processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work off business hours and weekends as needed in a demanding environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience of building models within SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and/or SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC).
  • Familiarity with SAP ERP for FICO, BW in a functional capacity (SAP BW4/HANA or SAP S4/HANA) or other ERP applications.
  • Familiarity with SAP Business Data Cloud (Datasphere, Databricks).
  • Project time and cost estimation ability.
  • Project management familiarity/experience (MS Project, project time, and estimation).
  • Experience with BI reporting tools: SAP BusinessObjects, SAP Analysis for Office (AOE), or other similar applications.
  • Experience in Media Entertainment Accounting and/or core accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Clear written & verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Applies unique or broad expertise to unearth and solve broad challenges, with decisions having a substantial impact.
  • Solves complex problems and enhances/develops new methods, systems, and/or tools.
  • Delivers solutions for financial planning, headcount planning, and operational planning (driver-based & allocations) using SAP BPC and SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Configures processes, develops reports, and templates for FP&A related activities.
  • Translates business processes into functional requirements for developers.
  • Reviews and participates in solution build and test activities for FP&A Systems implementations, rollouts, and upgrade projects; may conduct project solution architect activities.
  • Participates in the solution roadmap for FP&A systems projects.
  • Collaborates with Technology team peers to apply best practices for integrating technology solutions.
  • Interacts with cross-functional peers and teams to execute work agreements and plans, maintaining relationships with internal/external customers and partners.
  • Acts as the trusted voice of the Technology team with other IT groups.
  • Serves as the trusted internal advisor for key business users.
  • Assists in troubleshooting production support issues.
  • Assists with other tasks as assigned.
  • Enhances expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) products by staying current with literature, webcasts, seminars, and industry/vendor events.
