About The Position

The Business Support Officer supports the City Services Directorate by providing a full range of timely, confidential, administrative and executive support to Executive Managers, Managers, and the Executive Assistant to the Director of City Services. This role is crucial in contributing to the overarching vision of Cumberland City Council, which aims to be a place where anyone can feel welcome, belong, and succeed.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in an administrative support position.
  • Experience in providing support and assistance to senior level staff including the provision of confidential administrative support.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and knowledge of record management systems (Technology One).
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks, identify priorities, meet deadlines and manage projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to handle challenges and utilise problem solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexibly in a team environment.
  • Strong organisational and judgement skills, with the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities.
  • The right to live and work in Australia.
  • Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required.
  • Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council’s Health Monitoring Procedure, as required.
  • Submit WWCC number with application.

Responsibilities

  • Providing a full range of timely, confidential, administrative and executive support to Executive Managers, Managers, and the Executive Assistant to Director City Services.
  • Contributing to the overarching vision of Cumberland City Council.
  • Frequent travel required across Council worksites.
  • May be required to work across any of Council’s work locations.
