The Business Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting industrial customers and internal sales teams by managing the full lifecycle of customer orders, providing technical and customer service support, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This on-site position in Bessemer/Birmingham, AL, is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in industrial, manufacturing, or technical environments who wants to build a long-term career in a stable, growth-oriented organization.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or technical sales/service environment, such as process equipment, fluid handling, spray technology, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Basic familiarity with Excel functions to manage data and support reporting needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional interaction with customers and internal teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Microsoft CRM for tracking customer interactions and activities.
  • Experience using Power BI for tracking, reporting, or data analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, especially WebERP or similar platforms.
  • Prior experience supporting field sales or industrial customers.
  • Comfort with collections and accounts receivable follow-up.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, including exposure to technical products and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for industrial and OEM customers across multiple sectors, delivering prompt, professional, and reliable support.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, fostering loyalty and high levels of satisfaction.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to support customer operations and promote appropriate product solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed customer information, activity records, and interactions within the CRM system.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels, ensuring a high standard of customer service.
  • Provide accurate quotes and pricing information, process customer orders, and address product or application questions with confidence.
  • Translate customer technical needs into effective product recommendations using industrial or manufacturing experience.
  • Monitor account receivables and payment status where applicable, and perform collections and A/R follow-up as needed.
  • Enter customer orders accurately into WebERP and internal platforms, ensuring all details are complete and correct.
  • Confirm pricing, terms, lead times, and product details to support error-free order fulfillment.
  • Track orders throughout their lifecycle, from entry through shipment, and provide regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with logistics and production teams to ensure timely shipment and delivery of customer orders.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements that enhance order flow, accuracy, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with sales engineers, outside sales representatives, and corporate personnel to deliver seamless service and support.
