About The Position

MDW Associates is seeking a full-time Business Specialist to provide sound financial stewardship, expert analysis, and innovative approaches to our National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) client at Glenn Research Center (GRC) in Cleveland, OH. This role is 100% on-site. The Business Specialist may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties: Performs varied duties in the operation of a Financial Management Information System (MIS) (or similar system/s) to produce and disseminate useful information related to the utilization of resources Identifies/reviews data input source documents for completeness and adequacy for inclusion in various financial reports Monitors data usage in several key categories and consults with activity specialists and managers to resolve reporting problems Performs functional requirements analysis and interface with functional managers to evaluate the needs and impact of proposed financial systems enhancements toward the accomplishment of activity goals and objectives Examines financial system controls and procedures related to the processing of fiscal, cost, property, and other financial data Assists in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating automated accounting system requirements. Manages system operations, resolving unusual or complex problems as they occur Provides information on unusual conditions, procedural irregularities, and major problems, and recommends corrective action Supports supervisory and executive staff by performing various assigned accounting and clerical tasks. Advises on Government travel rules and regulations and processes and records the full range of accounting transactions related to travel. Support major financial systems implementations in support of financial and accounting processes Provide system testing, development of training materials, assist application users, identify issues and recommend improvements to application areas

Requirements

6+ years of experience in budget analysis or related field
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Prior analytical experience
Candidates for this position must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite with specialized skills in Excel
Candidates for this position must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Public Trust - Candidates for this position must be submitted for a background investigation in order to satisfy government requirements.
