About The Position

OnPoint Data Strategy is seeking a Business Solutions Developer to own solutions from conception through production. This role involves understanding business problems by directly engaging with users, defining solutions, building them, deploying them, and managing the project lifecycle. Projects may include replacing legacy systems, automating manual processes, developing data pipelines, and integrating AI into existing applications. The ideal candidate is versatile and can handle front-end, back-end, data engineering, and project management aspects to deliver a working solution.

Requirements

Software development experience in a business environment
Ability to build UI, API, and data layer
Running your own projects, including the schedule, the dependencies, and reporting status
Building and shipping REST APIs
Building end-to-end solutions with AI development tools (Claude Code or Codex)
Writing SQL against large relational databases
Building automated data pipelines that run on a schedule
Gathering requirements from business users and writing the specification yourself

Nice To Haves

Python
Cloud platform experience, Azure preferred
ETL and data warehouse design
Record matching and deduplication on large datasets
LLM integration in production applications
Retrieval augmented generation
Authentication and access control
Source control, CI/CD, and automated testing
Migrating data and applications from an old system to a new one

Working with large consumer or donor files
PII and data privacy requirements

Responsibilities

Building internal applications and services used daily by staff across departments.
Decommissioning legacy systems and databases.
Developing data pipelines that bring outside data into the OnPoint data ecosystem.
Building AI models, retrieval, and agents integrated into existing applications.
Gathering requirements with each department.
