About The Position

This is a 12-month Maternity Leave Contract. As a Business Analyst, you will focus on defining, refining and delivering business and process solutions, with a focus on the Guidewire suite of applications. Your role will include eliciting and documenting business requirements, facilitating walkthroughs planning User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and supporting change through deployments. You are the intersection of business and technology, ensuring solutions meet business need, quality and performance. You will drive system and process changes, managing your deliverable against set timelines for successful project and maintenance release deployments.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Business or Information Technology
  • Minimum 5 years' proven experience in the Insurance industries preferred
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Business Analyst, Testing Analyst, or Business Consultant in an Agile Environment
  • Minimum 2 years Guidewire experience required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written communication, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong technical acumen and demonstrated experience in data gathering, data analysis, data backfilling, and the creation of conceptual and logical models

Nice To Haves

  • CIP, CRM, CBAP, CAPM, PMP preferred but not required
  • Bilingual (English and French) is nice to have

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders across various departments including IT, Underwriting, Claims, Finance, to gather and document business requirements using both Agile and Waterfall approaches
  • Perform business process mapping, gap analysis and impact assessments to inform, influence and align refine requirements
  • Facilitate review and sign-off of requirement artifacts, working with IT and other teams to validate feasibility and alignment
  • Inspire stakeholders in the art of the possible and utilize best practices to influence optimal solution design
  • Ensure test process, methodologies and tools are applied appropriately
  • Develop and document test scenarios, test matrices, and execute system integration testing
  • Lead or participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Post Acceptance Testing (PAT) after system implementation
  • Actively participate in the post implementation support and review phase
  • Assist in updating system tables files accurately when changes are requested including product configuration and admin setup
  • Assist in communicating to management, team leaders and trainers on any new or changed functionality of a system
  • Provide technical support for clients via phone and e-mail to accurately record a detailed description of known issue, and work with cross functional teams to address in a timely manner
