Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in business to business sales, staffing, recruiting, or workforce development.
  • Understand recruitment, data entry, and customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of methods and techniques of job development and placement.
  • Knowledge of current practices in vocational education.
  • Knowledge of local labor market trends and employment opportunities.
  • Knowledge of effective procedures in identifying and securing community resources and services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Computer proficiency including computer usage to prepare documents and presentations, maintain various databases, and search for information on the Internet.
  • Ability to engage, understand, and respond to the needs of business accounts.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in workforce development is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify job opportunities for participants and match qualified participants with these employment opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with employers, successfully place participants into jobs and provide ongoing retention services to both the employer and the participant.
  • Initiate and maintain ongoing personal contacts with a variety of business and industry representatives and job placement/training agencies.
  • Promote participant placement by making cold calls to potential employers.
  • Explain benefits and employment support services provided by the Program to employers, including addressing employer's special needs.
  • Research newspapers, agencies, and other resources for job leads.
  • Locate jobs for participants who completed training programs.
  • Collect data from employers related to job orders including job requirements and skills.
  • Match job skills with applicant qualifications; refer qualified applicants to employers.
  • Conduct follow-up after placement and keep updated regarding future openings.
  • Coordinate and attend job fairs to conduct outreach and recruitment activities.
  • Assist participants in assessing their job skills for positions; administer and score standard career assessments.
  • Instruct in job seeking, application procedures, resume writing, interview preparation, and job retention skills.
  • Assist participants in preparing job search portfolio.
  • Provide job search/career information workshops and presentations.
  • Provide labor market and community resource information.
  • Work with Career Navigators to exchange participant activity and progress data.
  • Utilize Extreme Customer Service behaviors with all interactions with internal and external customers.
