About The Position

This position, located in Boone/Watauga County, involves a variety of administrative functions that allow the Blue Ridge CDSA, which covers 7 counties, to maximize agency revenues through reimbursement for services. This position is supervised by the Financial Officer and in turn, supervises others who are responsible for billing and reimbursement for agency services. Work requires the development of strategies to ensure that all sources of reimbursement are accessed and secured. This position is responsible for contact and relationships with representatives from payor sources including public insurance and numerous private insurance companies to develop effective billing practices and to resolve billing disputes. Parent fees are another source of agency revenue and this position manages all related processes, including oversight of application of sliding fee payment scales. This position manages the daily billing processes including distribution and monitoring of work and supervises billing support staff. In addition, this position administers and coordinates a variety of business and fiscal functions for the CDSA. The work requires knowledge of applicable policies, procedures and information systems in order to communicate and process information. The range of duties includes, but is not limited to customer services, reconciliation of revenue reports, report writing, records management and closely related functions.

Requirements

  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Business and Records Administration: Knowledge of appropriate business practices and procedures as related to billing and Accounts Receivable. Ability to facilitate business processes and operations by ensuring continuity, integration of policies and procedures within the agency goals and objectives.
  • Financial Management: Ability to monitor and maintain the financial resources of the agency to meet agency objectives in conjunction with State, Federal and Infant-Toddler Program compliance standards. Ability to prepare account receivables documents and related reports. Technical knowledge and skill and ability to analysis accounts receivable and aging reports.
  • Information Processing and Decision making: Demonstrated ability to compile, organize, summarize and analyze data as well as review information for compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate information to individuals. Ability to clearly and concisely convey information orally and written to individuals and ensure that they understand the information.
  • Planning and Organizing Work/Supervision: Ability to develop plans to accomplish work operations and objectives. Ability to arrange and assign work efficiently.
  • 5+ years experience directly working with Medicaid and private insurance billing, NC Tracks, insurance credentialing, HIS, CSDW.
