About The Position

Sand Cherry Associates is seeking an experienced Business Process Consultant to lead a current-state operational assessment and identify opportunities to improve business processes across Operations, Order to Cash (O2C), and Procure to Pay (P2P). This consultant will partner closely with business, operational, finance, and technology stakeholders to understand how work is performed today, document end-to-end processes, identify inefficiencies and control gaps, and develop a prioritized roadmap for improvement. The ideal candidate combines strong business process engineering and process mapping expertise with hands-on experience assessing complex cross-functional processes. This individual should be comfortable facilitating stakeholder workshops, interviewing process owners and subject matter experts, evaluating systems and controls, and translating findings into practical recommendations with clear business impact.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in business process engineering, business process management, process improvement, operational transformation, or management consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting current-state process assessments in complex organizations.
  • Strong experience developing process maps, swim lane diagrams, workflow documentation, and process narratives.
  • Experience assessing Order to Cash (O2C) and/or Procure to Pay (P2P) processes.
  • Strong understanding of cross-functional business processes, including systems, data, controls, reporting, roles, and handoffs.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process inefficiencies, risks, control weaknesses, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Experience developing prioritized process improvement recommendations and transformation roadmaps.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder interviewing skills.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of qualitative and quantitative information into concise findings and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and quickly understand complex business environments.
  • Experience with methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Management (BPM), or continuous improvement.
  • Experience working across Finance, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using process mapping tools (i.e. Microsoft Visio) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and interviews with key stakeholders, process owners, and subject matter experts.
  • Observe and document how processes are currently performed across Operations, Order to Cash, and Procure to Pay.
  • Develop detailed current-state process maps using swim lane methodology to illustrate activities, ownership, handoffs, decision points, systems, and dependencies.
  • Document roles and responsibilities across each process.
  • Assess key systems, data flows, reports, controls, and process handoffs.
  • Review existing process documentation, procedures, controls, reports, and supporting materials.
  • Identify manual activities, process bottlenecks, unnecessary handoffs, redundancies, and areas of process complexity.
  • Identify process gaps, operational inefficiencies, risks, and control weaknesses.
  • Evaluate opportunities to simplify, standardize, streamline, or redesign processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cross-functional coordination, process ownership, controls, data flow, and operational visibility.
  • Develop an inventory of process improvement opportunities across the assessed functions.
  • Categorize opportunities into quick wins and longer-term initiatives.
  • Assess the potential business impact of recommended improvements.
  • Prioritize recommendations based on factors such as business value, risk, complexity, and implementation considerations.
  • Translate assessment findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business and leadership stakeholders.
  • Develop a prioritized process improvement roadmap outlining recommended initiatives and sequencing.
  • Clearly communicate the rationale, expected impact, dependencies, and considerations associated with proposed improvements.
