About The Position

Fayetteville Public Works Commission is seeking a collaborative and solutions-focused Business Process Architect to help improve the way technology, processes, and people work together across the organization. This role evaluates new technology solutions and evolving business needs, develops requirements for technology implementations, and designs end-to-end processes that improve operational efficiency. The Business Process Architect partners across departments, IT, and leadership to translate business needs into practical, scalable processes and support successful technology implementations, enhancements, and releases.

Requirements

  • Strong business process analysis, design, and modeling skills.
  • Ability to understand complex business needs and translate them into practical process and system requirements.
  • Knowledge of process governance and standards development.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and functional areas.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to support organizational change and process transformation.
  • Analytical thinking with a focus on improving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Business Analysis, Process Management, Information Technology, or a related field and 7+ years of experience in business process analysis or a related field.
  • Business Process Management Certification OR Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification (must be obtained within six (6) months of hire if not possessed at time of hire).

Responsibilities

  • Design and define end-to-end business processes across departments.
  • Evaluate new technologies and business enhancements to identify process impacts and opportunities.
  • Gather, develop, and document business and system requirements for technology implementations.
  • Design processes that support operational efficiency, business strategy, and scalability.
  • Develop process governance frameworks, standards, and documentation.
  • Partner with IT, business teams, and leadership on enterprise system implementations and integrations.
  • Coordinate knowledge transfer to business users during system implementations, enhancements, and releases.
  • Lead or support business process transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support change management efforts associated with new systems, processes, and ways of working.
