What Role You Will Play on Our Team As a key member of the Planning and Stewardship team, the Business Planning and Performance Advisor is responsible for business planning, stewardship and analysis supporting various business initiatives and projects. Through these activities you will be involved in business strategy, planning and process improvement while working closely with both financial and business line management. This role offers exposure to senior management, providing insights that directly influence business performance and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability to synthesize financial data into business insights
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
  • Capability to manage multiple monthly priorities and deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Strategic planning, portfolio management, and business analysis experience are an asset
  • Comfortable working independently and continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience with analytic tools such as Power BI or other intelligence tools
  • Previous experience within the oil & gas industry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supports annual business plan development, aligning financial objectives with performance expectations
  • Utilize financial models, scenario analysis, and business cases to support strategic initiatives and decision making
  • Independently analyze specific business and financial results for insights to understand key business events
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership by providing data-driven decision support
  • Support Inventor Relations team with performance analysis and financial outlooks
  • Analyzes monthly financial results, identifying key drivers of performance
  • Monitor key business and financial metrics; challenge assumptions providing recommendations
  • Contribute to process improvement and continuous enhancement to improve visibility into business performance
  • Partner in special projects, strategic analysis, and ad hoc requests from senior leadership
