Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry, experience with cardio preferred
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and global communication
  • Experience handling crisis communications and managing sensitive situations
  • Expertise in communication concepts, practices, strategies and tactics based on understanding of key audiences and corporate objectives
  • Issues management and understanding of media engagement
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, strategies, and formats
  • Press relations (P&R) skills and media relations management
  • Ability to manage budget and timelines
  • Hands-on, highly influential and a trusted strategic advisor to cross-functional teams
  • Strong at developing messaging and managing input and approvals of press releases, media statements, and other external communications pieces.
  • Strong collaboration skills for a global, highly matrixed environment
  • Stakeholder management across diverse audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to network and work cross-functionally and cross-geographies

Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Global Vaccines Communications Leadership Team (LT), the Communications Business Partner for Flu & Covid is responsible for defining and driving the global external and internal communications strategy related to our Flu & Covid Products, plus associated assets in the pipeline.
  • As part of the Flu & Covid Brand Leadership Team, provide strategic guidance to the Global Flu & Covid Franchise to ensure consistent and impactful external communications across all functions and geographies.
  • Provide strategic communications guidance and support to key internal stakeholders: Global Brand Teams, Medical Affairs, R&D, Public Affairs, and Commercial Operations at global level, and other expert functions.
  • Create, develop and implement annual Communication Plans, in close cooperation with the Vaccines Cross-Portfolio Comms team (delivery & activation), Franchises and the Market Communication teams.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the global communications strategy for the establishment of the Flu/Covid combination older adult vaccines.
  • Ensure alignment of Flu, Covid messaging and communication activities with Sanofi communication strategy and business priorities.
  • Ensure strategic contribution of Flu and Covid vaccines across Sanofi communication areas, including media relations, editorial planning, image & reputation, and employee engagement.
  • Craft messages and drive interactions with Global Media Relations and Investor Relations teams to ensure proper and impactful reflection of vaccine portfolio strategy and performance.
  • Issues Management - ensure preparedness and lead crisis management within the scope of responsibility.
  • Ensure strong product communications messages and basic material is in place for markets to leverage.
  • Manage an annual budget in cooperation with the wider team.
