Business Operations Manager

About The Position

Massed Compute is building a modern GPU cloud platform for AI and high-performance compute workloads. Customers choose us when they need high-performance infrastructure with more flexibility, visibility, and support than they get from traditional options. Our work sits at the intersection of AI infrastructure, product design, systems thinking, and customer obsession. Massed Compute is looking for a business operations manager to help turn a fast-moving company into a more effective, scalable one. You’ll work across the business on the operating rhythms, planning processes, and cross-functional coordination that help teams move faster with better judgment. That means building clarity where things are messy, creating structure where structure is missing, and helping leadership make decisions with a stronger grasp of tradeoffs, priorities, and execution risk. This is a highly leveraged role for someone who enjoys moving between strategy and execution. On any given week, you might be building a planning model, improving an internal process, driving a cross-functional initiative, preparing materials for an important decision, or helping close gaps between commercial, product, infrastructure, and finance priorities. We’re looking for someone who is analytical, organized, practical, and unusually strong at making things run better. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, able to earn trust across functions, and motivated by the idea of being a force multiplier for a lean, ambitious team. In your first 8-12 months, you will have improved the company’s operating cadence, brought more structure to planning and prioritization, made key cross-functional work easier to execute, and helped leadership spend less time chasing information and more time making good decisions. Critically, you will have helped us replace ad hoc coordination with lightweight systems that increase speed, visibility, and accountability without creating bureaucracy.

Requirements

  • Strong business judgment and the ability to break ambiguous problems into clear, actionable work
  • A track record of improving how teams plan, coordinate, and execute
  • The ability to move comfortably between analysis, project management, and communication
  • Experience partnering with senior executives and key external stakeholders
  • Strong quantitative skills and comfort building models, tracking metrics, and synthesizing operational data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, especially when aligning stakeholders with different priorities
  • High attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • Comfort operating with limited structure while creating structure for others
  • Strong ownership and follow-through; you reliably push important work to completion
  • Good instincts for when a process needs more rigor and when simplicity is the better answer
  • Fluency with AI tools and excitement about using them to improve the way a company operates

Nice To Haves

  • Typically 5-10+ years of professional experience in business operations, strategic operations, chief of staff, consulting, finance, program management, or a similarly high-responsibility role. We care more about scope and results than years of experience.
  • Experience at a high-growth technology company, rapidly scaling startup, or similarly demanding environment
  • Experience working across multiple business functions and influencing outcomes without relying on formal authority
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Have worked closely with founders or senior executives on company planning and operations
  • Have experience in cloud infrastructure, AI, developer tools, or another technical market
  • Have built dashboards, reporting systems, or internal tools that improved company execution
  • Are fluent with AI tools such as Claude, Codex, and related workflow automation tools
  • Have a background in consulting, banking, investing, or financial services paired with evidence you can operate effectively inside a company
  • Have an MBA from a competitive program

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve the company operating system. Create and maintain the planning, reporting, and decision-making rhythms that help the business run smoothly
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives. Help move important work across teams by clarifying owners, timelines, dependencies, and risks
  • Support strategic planning. Translate company goals into operating plans, track progress against them, and surface tradeoffs early
  • Improve internal processes. Identify bottlenecks in how we work and design better ways to operate across functions such as GTM, product, infrastructure, finance, and recruiting
  • Build decision support. Develop analyses, dashboards, models, and materials that help leadership make higher-quality decisions faster
  • Increase execution visibility. Make it easier to understand what is happening across the business, what is off track, and where intervention is needed
  • Partner with leadership. Work closely with company leaders on special projects, operational priorities, and high-importance initiatives
  • Keep the company aligned. Ensure important information, decisions, and action items do not get lost between teams
  • Bring leverage through AI and automation. Use AI tools and lightweight automation to reduce manual work, improve workflows, and increase team productivity
