Business Operations Lead

PrelimBoston, MA
$170,000 - $180,000Remote

About The Position

  • Experience in a role responsible for cross-functional coordination (e.g., ops manager, business operations, chief of staff, program manager, or senior consultant).
  • Strong writing and communication skills to create operational documentation, staffing plans, project trackers, meeting agendas, status reports, and process docs.
  • Relentlessly organized without being bureaucratic; able to add useful structure without creating unnecessary process.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and a mix of varied tasks.
  • Direct and unintimidated communication style, comfortable giving direct feedback to team leads and founders.
  • Experience supporting a technical team (engineering, design, product).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in B2B, enterprise software, or fintech.
  • Familiarity with tools like Linear, Notion, Pylon, Mixpanel.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cross-team efforts across product, design, engineering, and implementations, including presenting staffing options based on capacity.
  • Build and manage a system for workload visibility and risk tracking, providing leadership with a weekly view of team load, active work, and delivery risks.
  • Establish and maintain an operational rhythm, including agendas for syncs, timely cycle kickoffs, action item tracking, OOO documentation, and scheduling reviews.
  • Manage staffing and project reassignments, PTO coverage, and customer escalation routing to ensure smooth handoffs and prevent dropped tasks.
  • Handle vendor and logistics management, including office space coordination, software contracts, expense approvals, and travel booking for offsites and meetups in collaboration with People Operations.
