Business Operations Lead, Messaging & Solutions Marketing

SalesforceBoston, MA
$117,400 - $177,600Hybrid

About The Position

Salesforce's Messaging and Solutions Marketing organization shapes how the world understands Salesforce across its core products and company narrative. This role serves as the business operations engine for this organization, working directly with the Sr. Director of Messaging Strategy & Operations. The position is responsible for owning the organization's budget, headcount plan, and financial scenario modeling. This is a hybrid role requiring three days in the office each week.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in business operations, FP&A, strategy & operations, or headcount/workforce planning, with a track record of hands-on operational delivery.
  • Fluent in Excel and Google Sheets, with experience building and maintaining budget and headcount models, handling reductions, and ability to walk someone through a live model.
  • Experience running full budget planning cycles: tracking spend, modeling cuts, and working alongside central or functional planners to hit targets.
  • Ability to communicate clearly at the executive level.
  • Ability to build structure in ambiguous environments without waiting to be told what to do.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in FP&A, consulting with hands-on delivery, or marketing operations at scale.

  • Hands-on curiosity about AI tools; experience with Claude or Claude Code is a plus.
  • Comfort navigating senior stakeholders in a matrixed organization and seeing operating across levels as an opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Own headcount planning end to end, serving as the single source of truth for every position, backfill, geo/level change, and transfer modeled against budget targets, in close partnership with Central Planning, Finance, and Employee Success.
  • Lead budget planning and financial operations, including spend tracking across programs, headcount, contractors, and T&E; requarterizations; incremental funding requests; and quarterly Spend Health Reviews for the EVP.
  • Build and run scenario models under pressure, developing options quickly and strategically when reduction targets or funding requests are received, and surfacing risks before they reach senior leadership.
  • Drive the organization's planning rhythm, including the V2MOM process, annual and quarterly planning checkpoints, action tracking, and leadership forum preparation.
  • Experiment with AI tools to automate reporting and synthesis workflows.
