Business Operations Associate

Rune•Mountain View, CA
•$120,000 - $150,000•Onsite

About The Position

Rune is building physical infrastructure across multiple states and countries, and every new site, partner, and hire adds to the operational surface area of the company. The Business Operations Associate stays ahead of that growth: building the compliance, reporting, and administrative backbone Rune runs on, and taking on the high-priority projects that sit between functions. You'll work across operations, legal, people, and facilities, often in the same day. Some days that means developing and refining the company’s KPI scorecard. Other weeks it means standing up a new office, supporting diligence for financing, or designing a process so a growing team can move faster.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years in operations, consulting, or a generalist role at a startup or fast-moving team; bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A record of taking ownership of ambiguous problems and getting them to done without waiting to be told how.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the follow-through to keep many deadlines moving at once.
  • Sound judgment on what matters most and what can wait, and comfort making calls with incomplete information.
  • Clear, direct written and verbal communication with teammates, vendors, and outside advisors.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, especially spreadsheets; quick to pick up new tools.
  • Discretion with confidential financial, legal, and employee information.
  • Energized by early-stage building and by being the person others rely on to make things happen.

Responsibilities

  • Own operational projects end to end, from defining the problem to implementing the solution to handing off clean ownership, across areas like office build-outs, vendor selection, and reporting requests.
  • Support the business operating infrastructure of the company: corporate and regulatory compliance across every jurisdiction where Rune operates
  • Lead company KPI reporting: gather inputs across teams, design the scorecard, and prepare clear, decision-ready reporting for leadership.
  • Design lightweight processes and systems across the organization to support improved data collection and scale-up of the company
  • Keep the office and team running: workspace, IT and connectivity, security and access, vendors and subscriptions, and logistics.

Benefits

  • Competitive base and strategic ownership in what we believe will be one of the largest infrastructure build-outs of the decade.
