About The Position

The Business Operations Analyst supports the planning, coordination, and optimization of clinical operations across the Division. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining efficient processes that enhance provider scheduling, improve patient access, and support high-quality care delivery across ambulatory and procedural settings. Working closely with divisional leadership, the analyst contributes to both day-to-day operational management and longer-term strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include managing complex provider scheduling, analyzing operational and financial data, and identifying opportunities to improve throughput, resource utilization, and overall performance. The position also plays a critical role in supporting data-driven decision-making through reporting, dashboard development, and performance monitoring. Additionally, the analyst collaborates with clinical, administrative, and technical teams to implement system enhancements, optimize workflows, and ensure alignment with institutional priorities. Through strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, the Business Operations Analyst helps drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and a high level of service for both patients and providers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
2 years of relevant administrative or business operations experience supporting senior-level leadership.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Nice To Haves

2–4 years of relevant experience in an academic medical center or research environment.
Experience with financial analysis, statistical reporting, and data-driven decision support.
Familiarity with faculty recruitment processes.
Experience with marketing, presentation development, and outreach initiatives.
Proficiency with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Canva, and Visio.
Experience with process improvement and implementing operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities

Conduct financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support Division and the Diabetes and Metabolism Research Center operations and strategic planning.
Provide administrative and financial assistance to faculty and staff, ensuring efficient daily operations and compliance with institutional policies.
Gather, analyze, and report statistical data to inform decision-making and monitor key performance indicators for research and clinical programs.
Support faculty recruitment processes, including coordinating search activities, onboarding, and documentation.
Collaborate with divisional leadership and organizational support departments to develop outreach, marketing, and presentation materials that enhance communication and raise awareness of Diabetes and Metabolism Research Center priorities.
Act as a liaison between faculty, staff, and leadership, communicating directives and gathering feedback.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and institutional policies and procedures.
Support the strategic planning process and contribute administrative support as needed.
Coordinate meetings, events, and special projects for the Diabetes and Metabolism Research Center.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
Provide support for the implementation and optimization of EPIC and other electronic health record systems.
Develop and maintain program materials, websites, forms, and reports.
Additional tasks as assigned to advance the Division.
Support the strategic planning process and contribute administrative support as needed.
