What You’ll Do The Mayor’s Office with the City and County of Denver (CCD) is seeking a detail-oriented, community-focused professional to serve as an Outreach and Board Operations Administrator. This role blends relationship-centered community engagement with independent administrative and operational responsibility, ensuring the Mayor’s Office engages effectively, equitably, and efficiently with Denver’s diverse communities. This position serves as a primary administrative coordinator for two departments: the Mayor’s Office of Community Outreach and Mayor’s Office Boards & Commissions, operating in a fast-paced, collaborative, and politically sensitive environment. Reporting to the Mayor’s Outreach Director, as the Outreach and Board Operations Administrator, your scope of work will focus on:

Requirements

  • Community Engagement & Relationship Management Experience supporting or coordinating community engagement initiatives, public meetings, or outreach efforts
  • Ability to build, cultivate, and sustain positive working relationships with residents, community leaders, nonprofit partners, business stakeholders, and internal departments
  • Cultural competency and demonstrated ability to work effectively with Denver’s diverse communities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders with professionalism, diplomacy, and respect

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience administering business operations or operational programs and/or assisting professional/management staff with administrative or operational functions.

Responsibilities

  • Independently oversee operational workflows for community outreach and Boards & Commissions functions
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve administrative and operational processes
  • Manage complex scheduling, event logistics, and competing ensuring proactive scheduling
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings, public engagements, and multi-departmental initiatives
  • Prepare executive memos, operational reports, and data analysis to inform leadership decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with city policies and documentation standards
  • Oversee all administrative aspects of the Mayor’s Boards & Commissions appointment process from application through appointment
  • Manage tracking systems, documentation, and statutory deadlines
  • Maintain official records and CRM databases ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance
  • Prepare official memos and correspondence for Mayor’s Office leadership and Board leadership
  • Cultivate and develop relationships with board liaisons, agency leaders, and potential applicants.
  • Support engagement with residents, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community partners through constituent communications and updates
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, and citywide special initiatives and events
  • Track engagement metrics and community feedback for Outreach Team
  • Support with research and evaluation of partnership and engagement opportunities
  • Facilitate effective communication and build strong working relationships with internal teams, city departments, and external partners to support the work of Mayor’s Office community-facing teams.
  • Provide professional, diplomatic support in high-visibility or politically sensitive situations
