The UNC Department of Dermatology provides medical and surgical care to patients with conditions that affect the skin, hair, nails, and membranes. We offer superb adult and pediatric medical and surgical/laser services, Mohs surgery, and dermatopathology. The Business Officer position administers and manages operational duties for the Department of Dermatology. These duties encompass making sure all clinics and labs run smoothly, efficiently, safely, and in compliance with healthcare standards. This position is responsible for reviewing and monitoring operational data for accuracy, identifying issues, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies and regulations. The role serves as a key operational resource within the Department of Dermatology Business Office, supporting onboarding and training of new employees and coordinating departmental administrative processes. The position works closely with the department’s Associate Chair for Administration, Director of Nursing, and other department leadership to assess operational needs, monitor resource utilization, and support planning for departmental activities and initiatives.
