About The Position

The Business Office Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations within the business office of a healthcare facility, specifically focusing on long-term care, short-term rehab, skilled nursing, and sub-acute care. This role involves managing billing, financial data, accounts receivable, and staff training, ensuring the highest standards of care and service for residents, families, and employees. Requirements

  • Accounting degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years experience
  • 5 years of health care revenue cycle management experience, preferably in the long-term care industry
  • Knowledge of health care billing requirements, accounts receivable management and financial applications
  • Strong communication, analytic, and writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task, handle multiple priorities, and to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Verifying daily Census
  • Verify all billing and financial data for new admissions
  • Medicare A & B Billing, Claims Corrections and Follow-up
  • Managed Care, Claims Corrections and Follow-up
  • Private Pay Billing and Collections. Medicaid Application Assistance
  • Payment Processing, Reconciliation, and Reporting
  • Account Adjustment and Reconciliation
  • Accounts Receivable Month-end Closing
  • Medicare Bad Debt Processing
  • Accounts Receivable Monitoring and Analysis
  • Refund Processing
  • Management, Control and Reconciliation of the Residents Needs Account
  • Financial Cycle Oversight: Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Payroll
  • Staff Training and Professional Development
  • Supervising of Assigned staff as Required (including Accounts Receivable Assistant, Human Resources, Accounts Payable Assistant, Payroll Assistant)
