About The Position

The Business Office Manager is a key member of the community leadership team and is responsible for the successful operation of the business office. This position oversees resident billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, human resources administration, benefits, employee records, and the front desk team. The Business Office Manager also works closely with the Executive Director and department leaders to support employees, residents, families, and overall community operations. This position is an excellent opportunity for a successful Business Office Manager who takes pride in their work and may aspire to become an Executive Director. The person selected will first be responsible for leading an exceptional business office. Candidates who demonstrate strong performance, leadership ability, and operational readiness may also be considered for a future Assistant Executive Director development opportunity.

Requirements

  • Senior living Business Office Manager experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, human resources, and benefits administration
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet firm deadlines
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and respect for confidentiality
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with employees, residents, and families
  • A love of seniors and a desire to go above and beyond in their service

Responsibilities

  • Oversee resident billing, accounts receivable, and collections
  • Oversee and process accounts payable
  • Assist the corporate accounting team with month-end close and financial reporting
  • Process biweekly payroll and employee changes
  • Coordinate hiring, onboarding, benefits enrollment, and terminations
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
  • Support department leaders with payroll and human resources responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, and develop front desk team members
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, employees, vendors, and corporate support teams
  • Participate as an active and collaborative member of the community leadership team
