About The Position

The Business Office Manager - Hospice Services is a full-time, in-office position, working Monday through Friday. The primary purpose of this role is to assist with the administrative functions of the office. This includes managing daily census changes, facilitating timely billing, processing accounts payable, maintaining clinical records, performing receptionist duties, ordering supplies, providing secretarial support, maintaining personnel files, tracking physician orders, and other duties as assigned by the Administrator. The role requires effective communication skills, the ability to establish rapport with various individuals, strong organizational and prioritization skills, the ability to handle confidential matters, flexibility in scheduling, and proficiency in computer software, including word processing.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for reporting daily census changes to billing department and maintaining monthly census log.
  • Facilitate proper and timely billing by maintaining lines of communication with billing department.
  • Responsible for weekly submission of accounts payable information and for maintaining system to ensure invoices are submitted and paid.
  • Clinical record management.
  • Perform receptionist duties for the office.
  • Order supplies as directed by Administrator.
  • Provide secretarial support to the Administrator and office staff as needed.
  • Maintain personnel files and ensure items are updated monthly.
  • Track signed physician orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Administrator.
  • Participate in center/agency surveys (Licensure/JCAHO) and any subsequently required reports.
  • Attend and participate in continuing education programs to keep abreast of changes in your field as well as to maintain current license/certification as required.
  • Attend and participate in mandatory in-services.
  • Honor patients/residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints.
  • Comply with corporate compliance program.
  • Report job-related functions/tasks that involve occupational hazards including exposure to blood and bodily fluids and others as necessary.
  • Follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection and prevention, smoking regulations, infections control, etc.
  • Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor.
