About The Position

Coral Gables Surgery Center is a busy, multispecialty ambulatory surgery center, performing outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Spine/Pain Management, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Plastic/Reconstructive, Neurosurgery, and Urology. The center is an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International, which provides first-class surgical services. The Business Office Float, under the direction of the Business Office Manager, is responsible for covering any necessary aspect of the business office. This includes duties such as answering the phone, front desk reception, data entry, processing accounts payable, chart scanning, and insurance verification. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding multi-tasking abilities, strong communication and teamwork skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. They should also demonstrate a history of successful customer service interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Cover any aspect of the business office necessary.
  • Answer the phone.
  • Perform front desk reception duties.
  • Conduct data entry.
  • Process accounts payable.
  • Perform chart scanning.
  • Conduct Insurance Verification.
  • Schedule patient procedures to ensure efficient and accurate processing of information.
  • Coordinate with anesthesia providers to confirm scheduling for coverage.
  • Verify information being entered into the EMR system is correct.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork for any patient “add on" is received by the appropriate staff.
  • Communicate changes to the schedule to appropriate staff.
  • Ensure all required fields in Advantx are completed.
  • Work closely with staff to avoid equipment or supply conflicts.
  • Cross train with other areas and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Promote positive relationships with scheduling coordinators, physicians and clinical staff members throughout the scheduling process.
  • Verify insurance benefits and discuss insurance information with the patient.
  • Set priorities, organize work, manage time effectively, and be attentive to detail.
