About The Position

The primary function of the Business Office Coordinator includes, but is not limited to, the effective coordination of the Business Office staff and timely completion of all financial duties and reporting. This role supports and assists the Facility Administrator and provides guidance to the Business Office staff. The coordinator is responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounting and reporting, meeting deadlines, and performing some insurance verification, surgical scheduling, and front desk duties. Additionally, the role involves verifying patient benefits, assuring co-payment collection, processing invoices, maintaining accounts payable, managing accounts receivable, and assigning duties to admin staff. The coordinator is also responsible for maintaining office supply inventory, reordering as needed, working with outside vendors for contracts, and coordinating the maintenance and support of center information systems, hardware, and software with Corporate IT. This includes providing support and troubleshooting for non-clinical equipment like telephone and paging systems, alarms, security, copiers, and faxes. The position requires participation in workshops/seminars, performance improvement processes (including safety, medical records, patient/physician satisfaction, documentation, OSHA compliance, and risk management), and maintaining a pleasant and professional workplace.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of medical office experience
  • Previous surgical scheduling a must
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, & Excel

  • Providing support and troubleshooting and ensuring maintenance of non-clinical equipment, tools, supplies and materials, such as telephone and paging systems, alarms and security, copiers, faxes, postage equipment
  • Attending appropriate workshops/seminars
  • Participating in the Performance Improvement process and activities, including the areas of Safety, Medical Records Maintenance, Patient Satisfaction, Physician Satisfaction, Documentation, Compliance with OSHA Standards, and Risk Management
  • Maintaining a pleasant and professional workplace for employees, surgeons and their staffs, patients and their families
