About The Position

The staff member will strive to exceed the customers' expectations by demonstrating flexibility and sensitivity necessary to respond to the customers' needs. Responsible for all benefit collections; charge reconciliation, payment posting, insurance verification and authorization. Accountable for customer registration in iCare. Performs a variety of administrative duties that supports team such as answering phones and scheduling appointments for patients. Responsible for contacting patients on the Referral Work queues and place notations as needed. Required to be flexible in their work assignments as other duties may be mentioned. The staff member will also assist with new employee on-boarding training. Responsible for the maintenance of office equipment and supplies required to support the facility operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Business or related field
  • 1 year of related office experience
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) - National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all benefit collections, charge reconciliation, payment posting, insurance verification and authorization.
  • Accountable for customer registration in iCare.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties that support the team, such as answering phones and scheduling appointments for patients.
  • Contact patients on the Referral Work queues and place notations as needed.
  • Assist with new employee on-boarding training.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of office equipment and supplies required to support facility operations.
  • Demonstrate organization of work, knowledge of process/procedures for applicable patient care setting and perform independently without close supervision.
  • Work effectively to resolve all incoming doctors' orders and referrals within 24 hours of referral assignment.
  • Complete all paperwork/computer-based forms associated with all procedures according to department policies.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and utilize best practices to decrease patient appointment lag.
  • Ensure that patient Wait/Registration times are consistently maintained at optimal levels to enhance the patient experience.
  • Accurately and efficiently enter data into computer systems for registrations, doctor orders, and other data entry responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and work well independently by seeking assistance when needed.
  • Take ownership and a positive approach in the training and support of team members.
  • Keep the team informed to support efficient department operations.
  • Ensure departmental tasks align with procedural volumes/measurements.
  • Execute workflow processes accurately and timely to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure that patient experience is conveyed in every encounter, that courtesy and respect are exhibited at all times.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to changes and adapt to varying work environments and assignments.
  • Ability to work rotating schedules as well as some light traveling to other facilities as needed.
