About The Position

The Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial, operational, compliance, vendor management, and business support functions for ThrivePoint High School and Calibre Academy. The position serves as the primary liaison between Facilities, Business Operations, vendors, and school leadership to ensure effective management of budgets, purchasing, contracts, events, compliance requirements, and school-related expenditures. This role provides leadership for school operational processes while ensuring adherence to organizational policies, state and federal regulations, and charter school requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, accounts payable, procurement, and financial controls.
  • Understanding of charter school operations and homeschool programs.
  • Knowledge of contract management and vendor relations.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience managing budgets, procurement, contracts, and vendor relationships.
  • Experience with state and federal education funding requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass all required background checks and fingerprint clearance requirements.
  • Participation in required professional development and organizational training.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Education Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in charter schools or educational organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee program budgets and monitor expenditures.
  • Review, approve, and process purchase orders, requisitions, invoices, and payments.
  • Maintain records related to school expenses and vendor payments.
  • Manage reimbursement requests and financial documentation.
  • Assist with audits and preparation of supporting financial records.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service agreements.
  • Review contracts and maintain contract records.
  • Track renewals, expirations, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee purchasing activities for curriculum, student materials, events, and operational needs.
  • Monitor regulatory deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain records in accordance with state and federal requirements.
  • Support audit, grant, and monitoring activities.
  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding purchasing, budgeting, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, Compliance, IT, and School Leadership.
  • Develop and improve operational processes and controls.
  • Assist the Director with facility audits.
  • Manage contractor relations and assist with facility maintenance and updates.
  • Partner with facilities manager to maintain building compliance.
