About The Position

Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking to hire a Business Manager to work on-site supporting a customer in Hampton, VA. The Business Manager (BM) role is integral to the success of the program and AMA. The BM oversees all program business operations and interfaces with corporate services, including finance, HR, ethics, IT, security, and export control functions. The BM engages directly with customer counterparts such as the Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer Representative (COR).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or related field and 16 years experience; OR an advanced degree and 14 years experience.
  • Strong U.S. government contracting knowledge (e.g., the Federal Acquisition Regulations).
  • Experience working in a Business Manager or similar role for a U.S. government contract.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent guidance, mentoring, and training skills.
  • Excellent mathematics, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage a large team performing business operational activities.
  • Ability to lead process optimization and improvement initiatives across the program.
  • Ability to effectively work in a dynamic environment and meet critical deadlines while multi-tasking on several different program priorities concurrently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Business Manager role for a large CPAF or CPFF (>$500M) NASA contract.
  • Understanding of and hands-on experience working with the iSite contract management system.
  • Solid understanding of contract and subcontract management concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Manager (and Deputy Program Manager) as a member of the Leadership Team and the Program Management Office (PMO) to meet program priorities and foster a productive and supportive work environment to achieve program goals, meet (and exceed) customer expectations, and ensure timely completion of deliverables and milestones.
  • Oversee program-related business management activities required to successfully meet contract requirements (e.g., financial management and reporting, subcontract management, contract deliverable management, monthly technical reports, purchasing, tracking and reporting performance metrics, government property management, Safety and Mission Assurance, Security Management, Quality, export control, travel and ODC management, badging/credentials/NAMS).
  • Proactively gather and incorporate stakeholder feedback to improve outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and documentation to stakeholders, as needed.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
