About The Position

The James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate at the Wisconsin School of Business seeks a Business Manager to further its mission of supporting education and the development of future real estate leaders. The Center administers the Real Estate MBA Program, and in conjunction with the Department of Real Estate, the Center administers the one-year Real Estate MS Program, including four specialized career paths. The Center also has a robust industry outreach program, including multiple industry outreach events, as well as an Advisory Board composed of 130 real estate executives from around the country.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of financial management experience or related professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of financial management experience or related professional experience.
  • Knowledge of UW Madison purchasing and financial policies and procedures or ability to learn.
  • 1+ years of experience in an office setting.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee budgeting including Financial Management Office (FMO) approvals, expense reimbursement, event planning, funds management
  • Assures tight financial controls through the positions’ use of a P-card
  • Manage the Graaskamp Board Renewal process
  • Interact with students, faculty and alumni
  • Directs daily activities of the Graaskamp Center, including programming for events, reserving conference rooms, and stocking the supply room
  • Plans, organizes, administers, and manages processes and operations related to assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Monitors, evaluates, and modifies processes, procedures, and/or standards, ensuring alignment with the Institution's mission, values, goals, and objectives, as well as all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Advises and enforces Institution policies related to services in Student Affairs
  • Serves as the program or unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups
  • May monitor the program budget and approve expenditures
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources to support the operational plans of the program or unit
  • May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
