About The Position

Customer Resiliency is launching a dedicated Small Business Recoveries strategy to empower our most vulnerable business customers and transform financial distress into long-term success. The program has rapidly grown 46% in the last two years and we face a critical opportunity to capitalize on Recoveries infrastructure and program investments to deliver >$100 million in annualized revenue by 2027. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation of problem solving ambiguous domains with a forward lean on designing mission-oriented strategies for our customers while collaborating across job families. You will have direct opportunities to hone your credit analytics and communication skills to senior audience members (VP+ Credit Officers) as we create and manage our own dedicated credit program.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience performing analysis
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
  • A Master's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration

Nice To Haves

  • Previous consulting experience is a plus
  • Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in analysis
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services
  • 1+ year of experience in consulting
  • 2+ years of experience in people management

Responsibilities

  • Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands
  • May manage and develop 1-2 analysts. Coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One
  • Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for various lending products; lead product level modeling/analytics
  • Lead direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for select products, and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel. Build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go-to-market strategies
  • Drive step-change improvements in credit performance by connecting drivers of future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, creating risk models, and testing hypotheses using rigorous monitoring and analysis
  • Manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements and execute against the product strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently
  • Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: IT, Sales, Operations, Finance and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability
