About The Position

The Business Manager for Clinical Cardiology Operations supports the Director by overseeing daily business operations for invasive and non invasive cardiology, ensuring efficient workflows, strong financial performance, and regulatory compliance. The role leads financial planning, budgeting, KPI monitoring, dashboard development, revenue cycle coordination, and charge reconciliation while supervising assigned staff. This position also identifies operational issues, recommends solutions, and serves as a key liaison between operating units and centralized accounting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or other job-related field from an accredited program to include coursework in operations management, financial management, and cost accounting
  • Minimum of five (5) years in finance or accounting with one (1) year of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with spreadsheets, databases, and report-writing software.
  • Experience in data/information analysis.
  • Experience with compensation, payroll, contracts, business administration, process improvement, data analytics, revenue cycle and/or regulation compliance.
  • Previous experience with contract negotiations.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Health Administration or other job-related field from an accredited program
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), CHFP (Certified Healthcare Financial Professional), or FHFMA (Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association) preferred
  • Seven (7) years in finance or accounting with three (3) years of management experience.
  • Three (3) years in a healthcare environment, preferably in cardiology in academic medical center or physician practice.
  • Project management experience
  • Previous experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Experience in Revenue Cycle preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts financial analyses, including forecasting, budgeting, cost management, and capital planning.
  • Assesses financial trends and opportunities for alignment with organizational goals.
  • Monitors (KPIs) and provides recommendations to department leadership to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Collaborates with our data analytics team to develop and manage operational dashboards that track and monitor performance.
  • Develops and implements business strategies to enhance the performance, efficiency, and financial sustainability of the service line.
  • Develop and manage executive-level financial dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Collaborates with department leaders to optimize financial reporting and resource allocation.
  • Provides recommendations based on data-driven insights, industry benchmarks, and regulatory changes.
  • May be asked to represent the service line at strategic meetings, on committees, and in organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborates with Revenue Cycle to monitor billing, coding, reimbursements.
  • Oversees charge reconciliation process.
