About The Position

Onondaga Community College, located in Syracuse, NY, is accepting applications for an adjunct instructor in our Business Administration program to teach classes in Principles of Management BUS-230 and/or Human Resource Management BUS-231. Principles of Management BUS-230 is a study of the management process with a survey of managerial and organizational theories, including planning, organizing, supervision, control, labor relations, and decision-making. Human Resource Management BUS-231 is a study in the major areas of Human Resource Management, including recruitment, selection, job analysis, training, job evaluation, wage and salary administration, and labor relations, with a focus on the human resource manager's responsibility for development of employee potential within an environment that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion for all members of an organization. Adjunct Instructors are responsible for all aspects of preparation, instruction, and classroom management, including learning management system (LMS) integration and maintenance, instruction and content delivery, preparing and grading assignments and exams, timely responses to student inquiries, and assessing student performance relative to standardized learning objectives. These courses are taught on campus face-to-face instruction.

Requirements

  • MBA or MS in Management from a college, university or foreign equivalency.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior college-level teaching experience in Business Management and/or Human Resource Management.
  • Prior work experience in the Business Management and/or Human Resource Management industry.
  • Preferred availability to teach during the day however, courses can be scheduled in the evening.
  • Experience with D2L Brightspace or comparable LMS.

Responsibilities
