About The Position

Vable is building a new business intelligence layer focusing on companies, deals, industries, and people. This product will complement their existing legal intelligence offering and target a new market. The role involves hands-on data work using new tools, solving client problems, and potentially managing a small team as the product develops. The work is visible, the impact is measurable, and there is significant room for growth. Vable is a legal content intelligence platform used by law firms and professional services organizations globally, helping them monitor, classify, and surface relevant content. It's a small, focused team where individual contributions directly impact the product.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in or around law firms or professional services (BD, marketing, research, operations, or data roles).
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Mergermarket, Refinitiv, DealCloud, Bureau van Dijk) and understanding of their data and usage.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Comfort working with new tools and technologies and finding practical applications.
• Clear communication skills, capable of interacting with legal professionals and technical teams.
• Self-starter mentality, able to make progress without a complete brief.
• Right to live and work in the UK.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with or alongside product or technology teams.
• Hands-on experience with data interrogation, cleaning, or maintenance.
• Familiarity with AI tools in a practical, hands-on context.
• Some exposure to legal intelligence (cases, legislation, legal sectors) in addition to business intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the business intelligence product, owning the data related to companies, deals, industries, and people.
• Work hands-on with data management tools to curate, classify, and improve the dataset.
• Identify coverage and quality gaps, diagnose root causes, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to implement fixes.
• Maintain and improve the source and publisher database, ensuring correct categorization and up-to-date information.
• Utilize AI tools pragmatically to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop a deep understanding of how legal professionals use business intelligence for BD, marketing, and client development.
• Translate client needs and pain points into product improvements and prioritization.
• Engage directly with clients to validate product development.
• Collaborate with the Head of Content Intelligence and Head of Product on product direction and roadmap.
• Work with the PM responsible for content intake to ensure monitoring of appropriate sources.
• Contribute insights on the competitive landscape and Vable's market position.
• Transition from a solo role to managing a small team, starting with a legal intelligence specialist, as the product matures.
