About The Position

As the Business Intelligence Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of BPP’s reporting environment. Reporting to the Director of Data & Analytics, you will build and maintain essential Power BI reports, manage the Microsoft Fabric and Lakehouse environment, and directly supervise the Data Analyst and Data Intern. While the Director establishes platform architecture, governance standards, and KPI definitions, you will execute these directives, transforming requests from various departments (Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, Inventory, Sales, and Projects) into accurate, refreshed reports. Your role is crucial in maintaining the stability, performance, and documentation of the reporting environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in business intelligence, analytics, or data engineering.
  • 2+ years leading a small team or owning a production reporting environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Economics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct the daily work of a Data Analyst and Data Intern, review technical output, and develop staff.
  • Ability to partner effectively with non-technical stakeholders across the business.
  • Advanced Power BI skills including DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, deployment pipelines, and workspace administration.
  • Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience, including Lakehouse, data pipelines, notebooks, and capacity monitoring.
  • Strong SQL and dimensional (star schema) data modeling skills.
  • Working proficiency in Python (PySpark).
  • Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Dataverse data structures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with manufacturing data including Bills of Materials (BOMs), production orders, inventory tracking, and industrial supply chain logic.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the daily work of the Data Analyst and Data Intern, including assigning and reviewing work, resolving technical issues, and fostering skill development through mentorship and peer review.
  • Translate department priorities into scheduled work, communicate realistic delivery timelines to stakeholders, and report progress, blockers, and risks to the Director.
  • Apply and enforce data governance, documentation, naming, and development standards across all team reporting work.
  • Build, publish, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards for executive summary, departmental detail, and transaction-level drill-through across Finance, Operations, Inventory, Manufacturing, Sales, and Projects.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of the report catalog, including intake, development, validation, release, version control, and retirement of obsolete content.
  • Oversee the reporting request queue, triaging requests, defining requirements with the business, setting delivery expectations, and escalating scope or resourcing conflicts.
  • Extend and maintain BPP’s core Power BI semantic model, ensuring consistency in shared dimensions, certified measures, and business definitions.
  • Ensure KPIs are calculated identically across all reports for consistent metric reporting.
  • Enable self-service BI by publishing certified datasets, report templates, user documentation, and providing training.
  • Administer Microsoft Fabric and Power BI workspaces, including structure, deployment pipelines, roles, app distribution, and promotion.
  • Operate and maintain the Lakehouse environment and its feeding pipelines, monitoring ingestion from Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Sales Hub, and SQL sources, and resolving load failures.
  • Monitor refresh schedules, capacity utilization, and query performance, troubleshooting issues, optimizing models and reports, and reporting environment health.
  • Administer report access, row-level security, and workspace permissions in accordance with data governance and sensitivity standards.
  • Track Fabric capacity consumption and licensing usage, identifying and reporting cost, throttling, and scaling risks with remediation recommendations.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for reporting and data issues, driving them to resolution and escalating platform- or ERP-level problems with root-cause analysis.
  • Gather requirements directly from business departments to translate operational questions into report requirements and validate delivered output.
  • Partner with functional owners and super-users to reconcile report output against source systems and confirm accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the Director and implementation partners on how Dynamics 365 changes impact reporting, adjusting models and reports accordingly.
