About The Position

Amazon Private Brands (APB) is a rapidly expanding business within Amazon, featuring a diverse portfolio of owned and exclusive brands across Softlines, Consumables, and Hardlines. These brands serve millions of customers in North America, Europe, and Japan. The Private Brands Finance team is responsible for financial planning, performance reporting, and providing business insights to guide APB's growth, investment, and competitive strategies. This role involves working with a complex, multi-dimensional P&L and collaborating closely with business, supply chain, and category teams to translate data into informed decisions. As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data pipelines, reporting infrastructure, and self-service analytics tools for over 200 stakeholders. You will lead cross-functional partnerships with Finance, Supply Chain, and Category teams, transforming complex data into actionable insights that influence APB's growth strategy and leadership decisions across 10 global marketplaces. Your contributions will span from architecting solutions for financial reporting cycles to conducting in-depth profitability analyses. You will also collaborate with Finance and other business teams on visualizations, pipeline creation, Gen-AI agent builds, and automation projects, ensuring your work is impactful and lasting. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about leveraging data to solve complex business problems at scale within a dynamic and strategically vital Amazon business.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
  • 1+ years of SQL, ETL or Oracle experience
  • 1+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience
  • 1+ years of performing statistical analysis experience
  • 1+ years of developing automated reporting experience
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
  • Experience using Python scripting to process data for modeling

Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and development of scalable, reliable data pipelines and reporting infrastructure that support APB Finance's multi-dimensional P&L
  • Lead the design and delivery of self-service analytics tools and dashboards, enabling 200+ stakeholders to independently access and act on financial data
  • Drive deep-dive analyses on profitability drivers, cost structures, and category performance to inform strategic investment decisions
  • Partner with and influence senior Finance, Supply Chain, and Category leaders — proactively identifying analytical opportunities and translating business questions into data solutions
  • Lead and scope Gen-AI agent builds and automation projects that improve reporting efficiency and reduce manual effort across the finance organization
  • Support strategic planning cycles (OP1/OP2) with data modeling, scenario analysis, and performance benchmarking
  • Establish and champion best practices for data quality, pipeline reliability, and documentation standards
