Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated entry-level Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team. The position is responsible for creating data processes, assets, and solutions to help us accomplish our growth and profitability objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or another related technical field is required
• High aptitude for mathematics and statistics
• Experience with Microsoft SQL, Python or other programming/database/statistical languages
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to adapt to constant change and innovation
• Ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship is a requirement.

Nice To Haves

• Actuarial studies and exams are considered but not required

Responsibilities

• Create data extracts and infrastructure to support the Business Intelligence Reporting teams.
• Build, maintain, and document code used to transform, aggregate, and present data.
• Learn and apply the tools and techniques employed in designing and implementing data engineering solutions.
• Develop an understanding of our data sources and data flows.
• Effectively communicate with other employees through verbal and written means.
• Participate in both formal and informal training sessions.
