About The Position

Every day, millions of packages move through Amazon's transportation network — and this team is responsible for making sure they take the smartest, fastest, most cost-effective path to the customer's door. Network Design Planning & Engineering sits at the center of Amazon's North American transportation strategy. We plan how packages flow from fulfillment centers to final delivery destinations, balancing speed, cost, on-time accuracy, and environmental impact. Our work directly shapes the delivery experience for hundreds of millions of customers. We're looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer who is excited about turning complex data into clear, actionable insights. In this role, you'll build the dashboards, reports, and data tools that help our team and partners see what's happening across the network — and make better decisions because of it. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, scientists, and product managers who will support your growth while giving you real ownership of meaningful work from day one.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling
  • Experience with various statistical techniques (regression analysis, coefficient correlation)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with teammates across product, science, and engineering to understand what questions the business needs answered — then design and deliver the data solutions to answer them.
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations that track how the transportation network is performing.
  • Create and manage the automated data workflows that feed reports and analytical tools, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses into operational performance, uncover root causes of issues, and recommend improvements backed by data.
  • Proactively look for ways to make existing reports and dashboards faster, more accurate, and easier to use.
  • Analyze historical trends to surface insights that support planning and forecasting decisions.
  • Respond to time-sensitive requests with clear, well-structured analysis.
