About The Position

Our Business Intelligence Director will be responsible for collaborating with senior team leaders and peers to understand the business needs or requirements for data or information and then work to create new or modify existing reports and dashboards to deliver against those needs. The Business Intelligence Manager will also be responsible for providing subject matter expertise in data and reporting. Scope: Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through department managers within the company. Works with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth company knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 10+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with executives and/or major customers.
  • Previous management experience
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills, with an emphasis on managing and meeting deadlines
  • Highly proficient in writing, telephone and internet research skills.
  • Business savvy in client interactions
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Self-starter
  • Interactive dashboards and enterprise reports using Microsoft Power BI. Proficiency in DAX and writing complex measures calculate, filter contexts, time-intelligence
  • Strong SQL programming skills for querying, aggregating, and manipulating data in relational databases (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server, or Azure Synapse).
  • Data Modeling principles, specifically designing highly optimized Star Schemas.
  • Power Query / M-language for data ingestion and cleansing.
  • Microsoft Power BI Service administration, app workspaces, and deployment pipelines
  • Data Sources - raw data lives.Salesforce, SAP, Excel/CSV, REST APIs, Jira.
  • Data Warehouse - Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse, SQL Server.

Nice To Haves

  • ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., Azure Data Factory, dbt) and cloud data platforms is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop well-organized and insightful reports, dashboards and other forms of data visualizations to support business awareness and decision-making
  • Design and maintain workflows to automate data ingestion, validation and report delivery mechanisms with impregnable performance standards.
  • Develop new reports and information processes
  • Perform market, economic, and demographic analysis
  • Develop support documentation and training for system users and administrators
  • Conduct phone and personal interviews for the purposes of gathering information
  • Prepare surveys or focus group analysis
  • Oversee analysis of competitive venues
  • Oversee analysis of marketing opportunities
  • Develop detailed financial models
  • Oversee economic and fiscal impacts analysis
  • Evaluate funding/return on investment metrics
  • Responsible for development of market research and financial analysis for all projects
  • Analyze local market characteristics, economic trends, and demographic information
  • Research convention, sports and entertainment industry trends
  • Interview facility managers to assess performance of their facilities
  • Design and implement surveys targeted at event organizers, show promoters, and venue managers to evaluate demand potential for proposed or expanding facilities
  • Develop comprehensive comparative analyses between proposed facilities and existing facilities that feature similar building and market characteristics
  • Meet with on-site with clients and conduct field research
  • Learn and implement proprietary models to forecast financial operations and economic impacts and fiscal impacts generated by certain public facilities
  • Work with senior staff to develop facility recommendations for communities wishing to expand existing facilities or build new facilities
  • Work with senior staff to develop demand projections and financial forecasts for such facilities.
  • Maintain and enhance database and industry contacts.
