The Business Innovation & Technology (BIT) Process Team supports UW Facilities by delivering data-driven insights that improve operational efficiency, inform decision-making, and enhance cross-unit collaboration. The team maintains a growing portfolio of analytical tools, reporting assets, and data models that enable Facilities departments to manage work, plan resources, and measure performance. Facilities has an outstanding opportunity open for a Temporary Business Intelligence Developer. The Business Intelligence Developer plays a key role in transforming operational data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders across UW Facilities. Reporting to the Manager of Business Intelligence, this position develops and maintains a wide range of reports, dashboards, and their supporting data models across both Tableau and Power BI. A successful BI Developer operates as an internal technical consultant, working directly with business partners to understand reporting needs, translate requirements into technical solutions, and deliver high-quality reporting products. The ideal candidate combines strong SQL skills, experience with modern reporting tools, and the ability to design flexible, multifunctional data models. This role also contributes to the team's evolving data architecture and participates in shaping reporting standards, documentation practices, and automation opportunities. This role has a direct impact on UW Facilities’ ability to communicate operational performance, support strategic planning, and identify process improvements. Responsibilities include report development and analytics (approx. 50%), data modeling (approx. 30%), and ETL/pipeline work (approx. 20%).
