Job Description: Business Intelligence Developer (L2) Location: Remote (U.S. based) Employment Type: Full-time Department: Enterprise Analytics Reports To: Senior Manager, Analytics Engineering About Us We are transforming musculoskeletal healthcare through intelligent, scalable data products. Our Enterprise Analytics team empowers clinicians, researchers, and operational leaders with timely, trusted insights. We operate in cross-functional Product-Oriented Delivery (POD) teams, using modern data platforms like Databricks and Sigma Computing to turn data into action. We are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer (L2) to help build intuitive, high-impact data products in Sigma Computing and Databricks. You will be responsible for turning structured data into interactive, user-centered workbooks and apps that drive decision-making across clinical, financial, and operational domains. The Role You will be the technical builder of analytics experiences—designing and developing experiences that are performant, reusable, and aligned with real user needs. You’ll work within a POD to deliver data products that go beyond static dashboards to become embedded tools in daily workflows. Success in this role means building products that users adopt quickly, trust deeply, and rely on consistently—while adhering to enterprise standards for security, performance, and maintainability.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in business intelligence or data visualization.
  • Proven fluency in Sigma Computing —you’ve built complex, production-grade workbooks from scratch.
  • Strong understanding of relational data models and SQL (you can debug query logic when needed).
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams (e.g., product, engineering, clinical).
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Databricks, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and deliver iteratively.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, including data quality, access control, and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare analytics (clinical, financial, or operational).
  • Experience with migrating legacy dashboards to Sigma or similar modern tools.
  • Background in product thinking —you’ve helped define what to build, not just how to build it.
  • Experience setting BI best practices or leading standards in a prior role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain production-grade workbooks in Sigma and Databricks that deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Translate complex data models (from Databricks) into intuitive, performant visualizations with clear narratives.
  • Write clean, well-documented formulas using Sigma’s calculation engine (aggregations, conditionals, time-series logic).
  • Ensure adherence to row-level security and access controls in alignment with HIPAA and data governance policies.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Analytics Engineers, and Clinical Informaticists to refine requirements and validate outputs.
  • Establish and follow BI development standards (e.g., consistent metrics, reusable components, version control).
  • Identify opportunities to productize recurring analytics and reduce redundancy across the ecosystem.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies as a core member of a POD—contributing to planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Benefits

  • Be a key contributor to the evolution of our analytics platform—from reporting to productized insights.
  • Work in a mission-driven environment focused on improving musculoskeletal care.
  • Collaborate with experts in data engineering, clinical informatics, and product management.
  • Grow into a leadership role shaping the future of BI and data applications at scale.
